Campus Kids Childcare Center at Miami Hamilton
The educational philosophy of the Campus Kids program is based on the constructivist approach. We believe that each child is unique and develops at an individual rate. We respect each child and family and the diversity each family brings into the program.
We believe that children learn by touching, manipulating, exploring, and playing. Children also learn important social and emotional skills by interacting with the environment and the people in the environment. We feel that it is important to guide children in learning skills to solve problems through conflict resolution. We provide developmentally appropriate activities which allow children to practice and master skills in the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional domains in a safe and positive environment.
Campus Kids serves children ages 18 months to 5 years old. The center has two classrooms: a toddler classroom serving ages 18 months to 36 months, and a preschool classroom serving 3 years to 5 years old.
The following is the child/staff ratio required by the State of Ohio. We exceed the supervision requirements.
Toddlers (18 months-3 years) The State of Ohio ratio is 1:7. At Campus Kids our ratio is 1:4.
Preschoolers (3-6 years) The State of Ohio ratio is 1:12. At Campus Kids our ratio is 1:8.
Maximum group size is 12 for the toddler program and 17 for the preschool program.
We will be handing out “Daily Notes” on the toddler side to let you know about interesting activities and achievement that your child did that day.
