Planning a 50th Birthday Party, a Miami Merger wedding, or even a large corporate event can be a daunting and stressful time. Don’t you worry, because our wonderful event planners are sharing with you, their five tips to help you plan a memorable event. Add these to your party planning checklist!

First, you want to Start Early: Begin planning well in advance to ensure you have enough time to organize every aspect of the party. This includes creating a guest list, sending out invitations, and securing an event venue (The Marcum) 😉. Early planning allows you and the planners to address any potential issues that may arise and gives your guests ample time to RSVP.

Second, incorporate Themed Decorations: Create a festive atmosphere by choosing party themes for your…let’s say, holiday party, and incorporate it into the decorations. Whether the theme is a winter wonderland, a classic holiday look, or a more specific theme like a “Christmas movie marathon,” themed decorations add a fun and cohesive element to the event.

Third, choose a Diverse Menu: What will you be serving your guests? You will definitely want to consider the dietary preferences and restrictions of your guests when planning the menu. Aim for a diverse selection of appetizers, main courses, and desserts that include options for those with dietary restrictions or allergies. If your party includes a mix of cultures, try to incorporate a variety of dishes to cater to different tastes.

Fourth, Entertainment: You want to make sure that you plan entertainment that is suitable for the atmosphere you wish to create. This could include a playlist for the holidays, games geared towards team building, ice breakers, or even hiring a DJ. Interactive activities, like a gift exchange or a photo booth with various props, can make your event more fun and engaging.

And finally, Keep it Cozy and Comfortable: Ensure that your guests feel comfortable and welcome. Arrange seating in conversational groupings, provide cozy blankets or throws, if your party is outdoors or in a chilly climate. Consider the flow of the space to encourage mingling. A comfortable atmosphere contributes significantly to the overall enjoyment of the event.

With over 9,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, our planners are sure to give you the experience you and your guests deserve. Remember, the most important aspect of planning, is planning ahead and paying attention to the details. With your ideas and our planner’s expertise, you can and will create a festive and memorable experience for everyone involved. Happy Planning from The Marcum.
