Request A Career Center Workshop

Career Assistants are available to student organizations or residence halls to educate students in writing a powerful resume and/or better leveraging LinkedIn, among other topics.

To request a presentation, please email  ca-request@miamioh.edu at least one week in advance of your workshop.

NOTE: the group is responsible for organizing the location and technology, if any, including:

  • laptop
  • projector
  • a blank wall or screen
  • any cords needed to connect the laptop and/or projector

Technology can be rented from King Library. If you have any questions, please email ca-request@miamioh.edu , noting the date, time, location, and workshop topic(s). You must guarantee at least 20 students will be in attendance.

Presidential Series: Career & Leadership

Miami University President Gregory P. Crawford and the Center for Career Exploration & Success are proud to present the 2018–19 Career & Leadership Presidential Series. Created in part to expose students to relevant workplace topics that uniquely mirror Dr. Crawford’s own career path and interests, this series is designed to integrate career-related professional development across multiple disciplines.

2018–2019 Series Theme: Innovation In All Careers

Topics Include: diversity & inclusion, innovation, and the importance of early and ongoing career/interest exploration. Electronic badges will be available for all participants. More details at MiamiOH.edu/careers.

Presidential Career Summit and Networking Reception

The Presidential Career Summit is an all-day, professional conference experience for first- and second- year students. Topics of focus include professional branding and etiquette, leadership, career clusters, and the advantage of the liberal arts education in relation to career success.

Career Summit participants receive an exclusive invitation to attend a networking reception hosted by Miami President Gregory P. Crawford and Dr. Renate Crawford in their home prior to the Summit. This is an amazing opportunity for students to engage with university leaders, conference presenters, career center staff, and fellow Summit attendees.

This event will provide International Students the opportunity to practice interviewing in the context of the US job market. Career Assistant Drop-in Hours

Stop by to meet with trained Career Assistants to have your resume, cover letter, or LinkedIn profile reviewed. Drop-in meetings are available in the Center for Career Exploration & Success (CCES) in the Armstrong Student Center as well as at satellite locations around campus. Drop-in meetings are available first-come, first-served while classes are in session. Drop-ins are not offered during finals week, fall break, Fall Career Fair, Spring Career Fair, or university holidays.

Practice Interviewing: Daily Mock Interviews

A one on one, 60-minute mock interview and critique to practice your interviewing skills without the pressure of an employer. Conducted by a trained Student and/or Community Member Volunteer Mock Interviewer. You must sign up in Handshake at a minimum of 48 hours in advance.
