Jackie Phillips MPH, BSN, RN ‘04
Health Commissioner for the Middletown City Health Department

Jackie Phillips is a 2004 Bachelor of Nursing graduate of Miami University Regionals and the current Health Commission for the Middletown City Health Department.

Jackie has worked in the healthcare field for over 30 years, and joined the Middletown Health Department in 1997. She has vast knowledge in early childhood development that she achieved while working directly with renowned pediatrician and author Dr. T. Berry Brazelton and his Touch Point Developmental Tool. More recently, Jackie has focused on strategies, education and programs involving Harm Reduction. In her role as Health Commissioner, this takes shape in the form of helping individuals, families and the wider community progress to optimal health.

She is a member of the Ohio Public Health Association, Southwest Ohio Health Commissioners Association, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Abilities First, and Community Behavioral Health. She also received Miami University’s 2017 Distinguished Alumni Award for Nursing.

In addition to her Nursing degree from the Regionals, she received her Master in Public Health from the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University and her Associate Nursing degree from Kettering College of Medical Arts. She has one daughter, Jordan Lee Kavanaugh, a son-in- law, William Patrick Kavanaugh, two grandsons, William Patrick, Jr. and Dominic Jackson, and one granddaughter, Jai Elle.
