Sue Sepela

Suesann Sepela, Executive Director

Suesann Sepela has worked at Miami University Regionals in some capacity since 2000 and now can be found spending time on both campuses. She teaches classes, advises students, and coordinates programs. Basically, she is completely committed to helping students figure out their place in the universe. In her spare time, she reads a lot, she runs a lot, she swims a lot, and she bikes a lot.

LaNighta Reid

LaNighta Reid, Director

LaNighta Reid earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Xavier University in Communication with an Advertising concentration, and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) for her Masters in Student Affairs in Higher Education. She started at Miami in 2011 as a First Year Advisor in the Office of Residence Life. She also worked in Career Services and in the College of Arts and Science as an Academic Advisor. She became Director of Student Support Services (SSS) in December 2015. She feels honored to hold this position as a two-time TRiO Alumna: in Upward Bound at California University of Pennsylvania in high school & SSS at Xavier. When LaNighta is not working, she spends her time crafting, baking, trying out new restaurants, and socializing with family and friends.

Jamie Viars

Jamie Viars, Academic Coach | Hamilton

Jamie Viars began her time with Miami as a student at the Hamilton campus in 2004, and eventually took courses at the Middletown and Oxford campuses as well. She graduated from Miami University with Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees in Sociology and Women’s Studies. She graduated with a Master of Science (MS) from Miami University in the Student Affairs in Higher Education program. Jamie has held several positions at Miami University as a student employee, graduate student and professional staff member. She loves animals and has three rescue cats; she also loves gardening, reading and spending time with her hilarious younger brother.

Melissa Carrion

Melissa Carrion, Academic Coach | Middletown

Melissa Carrion graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees in English and Spanish. She graduated from Wright State University with a Master of Arts (MA) in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). She has worked as a teacher, tutor and copy editor since 2009, and began working at Miami Middletown in 2014 as an English Language Center Specialist. Melissa is a TRiO alumna of the Ronald E. McNair Scholars program as an undergraduate. When she is not working with Miami TRiO students, she enjoys eating food cooked by others, swimming, kayaking, and traveling.
