Ohio Rural Clinical Placements
Bridging Care. Growing Talent. Empowering Rural Communities.

Ohio Rural Clinical Placements
Strengthening rural health systems and expanding access to care, Miami University’s Physician Associate (PA) and Nursing programs power Ohio Rural Clinical Placements, bringing much-needed capacity to local providers while elevating community well-being. Since launching, the program has partnered with hospitals and clinics across Butler, Preble, and Darke counties, supporting providers in serving hundreds of additional patients annually. By embedding future healthcare professionals in rural hospitals, clinics, and health organizations, placements increase services, ease workforce shortages, and enhance patient care. At the same time, future healthcare professionals gain authentic workforce experience — developing the skills, trust, and confidence to serve where Ohio needs them most. This dual impact advances rural healthcare today while building tomorrow’s workforce to sustain it.
