Preparing for Health Professions

Beginning Fall semester 2013, Miami offers the Premedical Studies Co-Major to help students prepare to pursue advanced degrees in medicine as well as other healthcare-related fields. The co-major integrates formal advising sessions with professional development courses (PMD courses) and courses covering the fundamental concepts in the biological, physical, and social sciences required for admission into medical school and/or covered on the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT).

The following table lists the required courses for the Premedical Studies Co-major (tailored to Chemistry/Biochemistry majors):
