Chaetomium Fungi
Chaetomium is a genus of fungi in the Chaetomiaceae family. It is a dematiaceous mold normally found in soil, air, cellulose and plant debris. It is characterized by a strong dusty smell and also thrives in water-damaged building materials.
Chaetomium is highly dangerous and can trigger infections in humans. According to the Dictionary of Fungi, there are about 95 species in the widespread genus.
