Registration and Fees

Coronavirus Impact Update:

Miami University has officially cancelled all face-to-face classes for the first summer term.

This unfortunately means that CraftSummer must cancel our program scheduled for April and June.

Currently we are in the process of rescheduling some workshops to run towards the end of July. We will update our website as soon as we have dates and classes lined up.

We are also exploring the concept of creating workshop style classes to be offered online with the hopes of having a few classes available this year. It will include personal instruction, demos, live critiques and live feedback from the instructors. More info will follow soon.

We wish you well. Stay safe.

Please read this entire section before beginning registration.

  • For graduate credit, please follow instructions in confirmation email regarding acceptance into graduate status to complete your registration.

Studio/Supply Fees

Studio materials fees are charged to cover the cost of supplies and materials used in each workshop. When possible these fees are calculated on a personal use basis. In some workshops, due to the nature of materials being used, it is necessary for fees to be evenly assessed to all participants.

All workshops have a minimum $10 studio fee. Additional supply fees will range depending on the course and are collected on the final day of the class Please be prepared to pay with check or credit card (Visa, M/C or Discover).

Please note: Miami University is no longer able to accept cash for lab fees or payments.

Supply List and tools will be emailed to each registered participant a few weeks prior to the beginning start date of the class.

  • CraftSummer tuition does not cover materials used for students’ projects. Most classes require the student to bring certain materials and tools that are listed on the Workshop Supply List for each class.
  • We will make every effort to notify students in advance if we anticipate a studio fee in excess of $50. Materials fees vary by class and may change as cost of items fluctuate from our suppliers.
  • Some instructors provide specialized materials for their workshops. In this case, payment for materials is made directly to the instructor. Be prepared to pay instructors by check, credit card, or cash.
  • Tool kits for metals and jewelry classes are available for a $15 rental fee.

CraftSummer material/studio fees are collected on the day of class for one day classes; the last day of class (Friday) for weeklong classes; and Sunday morning for weekend classes.
