Master's in Entrepreneurship and Emerging Technology

Miami University’s online Master's in Entrepreneurship and Emerging Technology (MEET) program leverages core curriculum, community ecosystems, and professional mentorship to deliver the experience-driven program you need to unlock a multitude of career possibilities.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Develop a feasible model for an emerging media startup grounded in UX research and supported with a digital marketing plan.
  2. Create a digital prototype of an emerging media product or platform and validate the prototype.
  3. Apply a depth of practical methods in the management of an emerging media organization. Specifically, a depth in building a tech startup, programming, design, or tournament organization.
  4. Implement emerging media best practices in a practical experience with an organization that leverages emerging technology to meet actual business needs.

Master of Esports Management

An Esports Management program turns your passion for gaming into an exciting career. Miami University’s Master of Esports Management degree — available both online and hybrid — gives you a solid foundation in all esports functions, including tournament and facility management, branding/marketing, sponsorship, team management, performance psychology and coaching, recruiting, finance, business models, media rights/legal broadcasting and more.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Interpret and explain the managerial and promotional principles, ecosystem, governance structure specific to the esports industry.
  2. Identify, articulate, and analyze social, economic, and cultural impacts of the esports on the gaming, sport, and business environments.
  3. Critically examine esports management issues and explain and demonstrate ethical best practices in the decision-making process.
  4. Develop a diverse set of skills in economics, business, marketing, broadcasting, coaching, and event management used for developing a successful career in esports management.
  5. Plan, organize, execute, and evaluate an esports event through employing principles of strategic planning, marketing, public relations, and financial management.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will develop a unique streaming channel/program to pilot by the end of the course.
  2. Students will learn to host an event by developing an intricate event planning document based on (or for) an existing event and reviewed by an expert from the industry.
  3. Students will develop a social media marketing plan for an Esports player complete with analysis of changes in exposure.
  4. Students will be able to write a blog/article consistent with the editorial expectations in esports journalism
