Future Dimensions, a sci-fi and real-world innovation podcast sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, recently interviewed graduate director in Experience Design at Miami University, Dennis Cheatham. His episode, “What moves the world tomorrow?: Dimension 4, what if fiction became reality,” released December 8, 2022.
The podcast hosts invited Cheatham after picking up on his 2011 informal study, “The Power of Science Fiction,” and since his segment received so much public interest, he plans to revive his past project.
They also encouraged Cheatham’s use of videography, both in his classes and in working on his Design Workbench. With his personal-professional website, he seeks to understand how media materials best engage researchers and students.
Other experts featured in the podcast episode include Jon Landau, Film Producer of Avatar, Lisa Yaszek, Regents Professor of Science Fiction Studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and Liam Young, Director of Tomorrows Thoughts Today and the Unknown Fields Division.
