You can join workshops, book clubs, service projects, and civil dialogues to explore your values, build self-awareness, and have meaningful conversations.

Practiced Principles
The Wilks Institute for Leadership and Service grounds their work in the following practiced principles:
Leadership and Service
The Wilks Institute develops student-centered programming that prioritizes the needs of the community. It is a place where students practice leadership and service as reciprocal processes, while building meaningful connections within their communities and with each other.
Community Engaged Learning
The Wilks Institute partners with staff, faculty, and community organizations to support student learning. We help students become active citizens and leaders by encouraging them to take ownership of their ideas and experiences.
Critical Reflection
The Wilks Institute challenges perceptions and assumptions of leadership and service by creating opportunities for critical reflection and education that prompt intrapersonal and interpersonal growth. We address the interconnected challenges of leadership, community, and civic engagement through values, self-awareness, and dialogue.
Civic Responsibility
The Wilks Institute believes civic engagement encompasses both political and non-political action in service to one's community. We foster a culture of responsibility that is asset-based, values-driven, and committed to the common good.
