Welcome Kapil Manocha

Miami University Director of Lean Initiatives

We would like to welcome Kapil Manocha to Miami University as the Director of Lean Initiatives.  Kapil began at Miami on April 15th and now has 6 weeks under his belt.

In order to get to know him better, we have asked Kapil to share a little of his background.  Kapil has an MBA from Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management with majors in Supply Chain and Operations.  He has 24 years experience in manufacturing and operations starting with 8 years in India where he worked for a bicycle producer that expanded business operations to Germany, Italy and Holland. After moving to the US Kapil worked for Cleveland based Parker Hannifin Corp, a fortune 500 manufacturer of hydraulic systems. Through 12 years and several Lean titles he worked on developing Parker's Lean System and was a part of multiple plant lean transformations, including one in England.

Most recently, Kapil was Regional Director of Business Excellence at Serta Simmons Bedding, the world's largest mattress company with 36 plants across the US and Canada. He is a Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) by APICS and a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Kapil and his wife have twin daughters who will start college at University of Michigan this fall.  He is an avid golfer and a "cyclical" Cavs fan - whenever LeBron plays for them.

Please reach out to Kapil via email at manochk@MiamiOH.edu or via telephone at 513-529-4244.  He is eager to get involved with our Lean teams and to embrace continuous improvement in higher education.
