Structure

  • The MSBA is designed for students who can dedicate full-time study for 9-months. All students in our program enter during the fall semester.
  • Upon completion of the first semester of courses (12-hours, 4 courses), students will receive a Graduate Certificate in Analytics. (For more information please visit the Miami Bulletin)
  • Upon completion of the second semester of courses (12-hours, 4 courses) students will receive a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Business Analytics. (For more information please visit the Miami Bulletin)
  • To complete the requirements for the MSBA, students complete a 6-hour experiential learning course that spans the winter term and spring semester.

Prerequisites

  • An undergraduate degree (any field) with a composite GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • A common body of knowledge in analytics that includes the following:
    • A college level course in introductory statistics
    • A college level course (full semester) in regression analysis
    • College level mathematics in pre-calculus, matrix algebra and calculus concepts.
    • A college level course that includes Structured Query Language and Programming (any language)
  • For students who do not have the necessary prerequisites, all courses will be offered in the summer term prior to entering the MSBA program through the Undergraduate Certificate in Foundations in Analytics. Students may take as many of these courses as necessary to complete the common body of knowledge in analytics. (For more information please visit the Miami Bulletin)

Some or all of the prerequisite courses may be waived at time of admission for those who have completed equivalent courses in their undergraduate education or who can demonstrate proficiency. Applicants must have earned a minimum grade of C in each prerequisite course and a 3.0 grade point average or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for all of them.   

Policies

All MS students must comply with Graduate School policies, which can be found on their website.  Additionally, to graduate, students must earn a 3.0 GPA in the 30 credit hours of required course work.

 

 

 

Combined Bachelor's/Master's Degree Program

Miami undergraduates can complete a bachelor's degree and the MSBA in 4 years.
