Miami University’s interdisciplinary Educational Leadership program has provided a unique opportunity for me to bring my background in Education, Germany, and Computer Science to bear in a focused plan of research, sharing, and teaching those topics. I am thrilled that the manifestation of my research documents the forced movement of people during the Holocaust and future research will illustrate the parallels and differences with the forced movement of the Myaamia tribe.

Notable Moment/Spotlight
Kurt is spotlighted for developng a GIS-enabled educational program to tell the story of the Holocaust, particularly using GIS to track the transportation of Nazi victims to Treblinka extermination camps, and working with the Myaamia Center to develop similar GIS mapping story of the forced removal of the Myaamia people from Indiana to Oklahoma in the mid-19th century.
