Myaamia students, who attend Miami University, play the Moccasin Game at the 2019 Miami Tribe of Oklahoma’s annual Winter Gathering in Miami, Oklahoma.It’s been 24 years now since Miami University became the Miami RedHawks, but it’s been almost 50 years since the beginning of a new relationship between the university and the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma.

Myaamia culture and imagery to be part of the K-12 "Ohio as America" curriculum
The Myaamia Center, some Miami University art education students and the Talawanda School District have collaborated the past three years on curriculum to help fourth graders learn about Myaamia culture and imagery. Starting this fall, the two Myaamia culture and imagery lessons will become part of the K-12 Ohio as America curriculum.
