Elizabeth (Lizzy) Lydon, Ph.D.
Education and Background
Doctor of Philosophy in Speech and Hearing Science, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, 2024
Master of Science, Portland State University, 2014
Bachelor of Arts, University of Colorado Boulder, 2012
Professional Recognition and Affiliation
Dr. Lydon's research program is broadly focused on characterizing language and cognitive control (executive functioning) in both typical and disordered cognitive aging. Her work utilizes both behavioral methods as well as electroencephalography (EEG) to better understand how the brain and its functions are impacted by various neurological disorders. She aims to leverage this work to 1) improve assessment and outcome measurement for cognitive-communication disorders and 2) develop and implement interventions that support communication and social engagement for older adults living with cognitive impairment.
