Mrs. Barnett is a speech-language pathologist whose specialization is pediatric speech and language. She provides comprehensive evaluation, goal development, evidence-based treatment, documentation, staff/parent education, and case management in a school setting for preschool and school-age students. In addition, she works in the acute care setting on a PRN basis evaluating and treating adult patients with dysphagia, cognitive impairments, and/or speech-language impairments with a variety of etiologies.
Her interests include early language development, phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, and social-communication.
Prior to entering the speech-language pathology field she worked for many years in the non-profit sector in both Hamilton and Butler counties providing program management and clinical supervision of supervisors and staff. In this capacity, she worked with a variety of stakeholders at the local, state, and federal levels to develop and implement programs supporting families with children prenatally to age 5.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, traveling, reading, baking, and cheering on the Miami University women’s water polo team and marching band.
