Janet McMillan

Biography

Taught Elementary school in Prince George's County, Maryland, for 7 years at an inner-city magnet school.
Moved to Cincinnati with husband and taught briefly at Summit Country Day School before starting a family.
Volunteered for Church [2 terms on Session in charge of Education]; chaired many community fundraising events, such as Council on Child Abuse and Red Cross; and dove into most volunteer opportunities at the Indian Hill Schools where her children attended.
Loved working with teachers and administrators, especially when she was President of both PTO and IH Foundation Board.
Was spirited “Team Mom” for many sports teams at IH and year-round Club sports
In 2006 developed and taught a Math and Science Enrichment Curriculum for Good Shepherd Preschool for 13 years for ages 3-6.
Now that her 4 children are grown, she loves volunteering at La Soupe [picking up rescue foods, working in the kitchen, and helping with their education classes], as well as mentoring at a Lighthouse Youth Services girl’s group home, along with helping with fundraising and donations.
Resides with husband in Kenwood, OH.
