Janet McMillan
Biography
- Taught Elementary school in Prince George's County, Maryland, for 7 years at an inner-city magnet school.
- Moved to Cincinnati with husband and taught briefly at Summit Country Day School before starting a family.
- Volunteered for Church [2 terms on Session in charge of Education]; chaired many community fundraising events, such as Council on Child Abuse and Red Cross; and dove into most volunteer opportunities at the Indian Hill Schools where her children attended.
- Loved working with teachers and administrators, especially when she was President of both PTO and IH Foundation Board.
- Was spirited “Team Mom” for many sports teams at IH and year-round Club sports
- In 2006 developed and taught a Math and Science Enrichment Curriculum for Good Shepherd Preschool for 13 years for ages 3-6.
- Now that her 4 children are grown, she loves volunteering at La Soupe [picking up rescue foods, working in the kitchen, and helping with their education classes], as well as mentoring at a Lighthouse Youth Services girl’s group home, along with helping with fundraising and donations.
- Resides with husband in Kenwood, OH.
