(18 semester hours)
A Lusophone Studies minor introduces students to the rich culture of Portuguese-speaking peoples and countries, especially Brazil. Portuguese is the seventh-most spoken language in the world. Knowledge of the Lusophone cultures is essential for understanding the political, economic, and social world with which the United States has increasing ties.
A minimum 2.0 g.p.a. is required for all courses in this minor. Courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit). Students planning to take this minor should consult with the chief departmental adviser.
