The Division of University Advancement engages alumni, friends, students, parents, faculty, staff and community members in championing support for the university’s mission. Composed of interdependent units, University Advancement collectively cultivates a sense of loyalty among all Miamians toward their alma mater by focusing its attention on the value of the relationship between Miamians and their university.

Program Associate

The Program Associate reports to the Director of Prospect Development and performs a variety of moderately complex clerical and administrative tasks requiring some independent judgment related to ensuring the successful completion of the daily operations of the Prospect Development office. This position is responsible for data entry and reporting, compiling daily internal communication, assisting with Development staff, project support, and general office support.

Associate Director of Prospect Development

The Associate Director of Prospect Development is a member of the Office of Development within the Division of University Advancement, reporting directly to the Director of Prospect Development. The Prospect Development unit assists with Miami University’s fundraising efforts by leading prospect research efforts, establishing and enforcing prospect management practices, overseeing performance management, and using analytics to help the University achieve its top priorities. The scope of prospect development tasks and duties is determined by the Assistant Vice President, Campaign Services, and the Senior Vice President of University Advancement.

Associate Director, Event Management

The Associate Director, Event Management is responsible for all aspects of event strategy, planning and production for a portfolio of high profile, signature events identified as strategic priorities by the leadership of University Advancement. The associate director, event management works collaboratively as well as independently with divisional staff and external vendors, providing comprehensive planning and coordination of logistics for University Advancement special events. The position is also responsible for ensuring message cohesion across all aspects of the event experience. Events range from presidential visits to large donor or alumni events on campus and around the country. This position reports to the Director, Event Design and Management, and will also interact with other leaders within the division and the university.

Director Digital Services

The Director, Digital Services, University Advancement is responsible for the development and implementation of digital strategies and marketing technology to drive engagement, outreach and fundraising among alumni, donors and friends of Miami University. The digital services team provides on-going optimization of digital channels and campaigns in support of Development, Stewardship and Alumni Relations functions within University Advancement. Works closely with the IT team as marketing technologist to manage the stand-up and run of digital marketing properties and programs.

Proposal Writer

The Proposal Writer position at Miami University will primarily be responsible for researching and writing proposals for individual donors with major and principal gift level capacity. Working within the Division of University Advancement and under the direction of the Director of Creative and Editorial Services, this position will serve a vital role in the Advancement Communications, Marketing, Events and IT department in helping to propel the University’s fundraising efforts forward. In addition to researching and writing proposals for major and principal gifts, this individual will also help lead and plan the coordinated process for all proposals and cases for support requested of and produced by the department. This includes working closely with the in-house design team to create adaptable proposal templates as well as other collateral to be used by development officers in their fundraising efforts.

Dir of Development CAS

The Director will help advance the mission of Miami University by planning, organizing, and implementing strategies to increase the level of personal involvement and financial commitment of donors and prospects of Miami University through its major gift program. Miami University is a public university founded in 1809 with over 200,000 alumni and 20,000 enrolled students. These students major in over a 120 different fields of study. The College of Arts and Science is the oldest and largest college at Miami and has over 48% of the student body enrolled in its majors and 100% of Miami students will take one or more classes within the college. The College currently has over 82,000 living alumni.

The Associate Director of the Western College Alumnae Association, Inc. (WCAA, Inc.), will work collaboratively as well as independently to promote and advance: The mission of the WCAA, Inc. to preserve and encourage communication among and with alumnae and to support education and human values that continue the heritage and tradition of the Western College. Relations with the Western College alumnae in regards to engagement, events, volunteerism, planned giving, fundraising for the Annual Fund and special projects. Relations between the Western College alumnae and the University in regards to campus involvement and educational programs.
