Timothy Model teaches courses on post-communist politics, corruption, research methods, international studies, and development.

Timothy Model studies authoritarianism, political economy of development, and post-communist politics. His current research explores the effect of corruption on mass and elite political behavior in authoritarian contexts.

His book project, The Logic of Anti-Corruption Campaigns, explains why authoritarian countries, where corruption is central to regime stability, use anti-corruption campaigns. He is also working on projects concerning corruption measurement in surveys, the influence of anti-corruption reforms on foreign direct investment, and the affect of corruption on different kinds of political regime.
