How to Schedule

Schedule Appointments

You have three options for scheduling an appointment:

If you want an appointment for 4 or more weeks, request a recurring appointment.

Scheduling and Cancellation Policies

  • Schedule 1 appointment per day, up to 2 days per week.
  • If you need to cancel, you should do so at least 2 hours before your appointment time, or your appointment will be marked as a "no-show." After 2 "no-shows," you can still use our services, but you will need to schedule these appointments in-person or by phone, as you will be blocked from using our scheduling platform for the remainder of the semester.

Canceling an Appointment

Please cancel your appointment at least 2 hours before your appointment time. To do so,

  1. In your WCOnline account, select the drop-down menu under your name in the top left corner.
  2. Hover over "My Appointments" and select the appointment you wish to cancel.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of your appointment form and click "Cancel This Appointment" in red.

Joining the Waiting List

If you cannot find an open appointment that fits your schedule, you can use our scheduling platform's waiting list. Once you put your name on our waiting list, you will be emailed if an appointment becomes available.

  1. On the WCOnline scheduling grid, click "waiting list" on the lower right-hand corner of the date when you would like an appointment.
  2. Enter your email and the range of times you are available, and click "add to waiting list."

Accessibility

The Howe Writing Center is committed to helping provide accommodations for all Miami writers who have scheduled writing center consultations. To request an accommodation, or to inquire about the accommodations we can provide (i.e., viewing or accessing materials in alternative formats, using assistive technologies during an in-person consultation), please contact Dr. Lizzie Hutton (huttoneb@miamioh.edu) at least 2 business days prior to your consultation. Know that we are also happy to collaborate with the Miller Center in providing such accommodations.
