Labor negotiations continued with the Librarian bargaining unit on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, to continue working toward an initial collective bargaining agreement. The University’s bargaining team and FAM’s bargaining team worked from approximately 10 a.m. until approximately 5:30 p.m. at the Demske Staff Development Center on the University’s Oxford Campus. 

The Union presented a Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Course Release and Service. The University then presented proposals and counter proposals on (i) Promotion, (ii) Personnel Committee, and (iii) Credit Bearing Courses. The parties caucused to discuss matters separately.

Upon the parties’ return to joint session, the Union asked questions about the University’s proposals. The University then presented a counter proposal on Non-Discrimination, for which the parties signed a tentative agreement.

The parties will next meet on April 5, 2024.
