Senators heard a report from Bob Applebaum and Julia Guichard on the Strategic Plan. Senators will discuss this in depth at the September 23, 2019, Senate meeting. Dana Cox, Chair, Senate Executive Committee, provided an overview of Senate procedures and lead a discussion regarding the Senate attendance policy.

Senators engaged in a discussion lead by Keith Fennen, Chair, Faculty Welfare Committee, regarding continuing contracts for TCPL faculty. With the approval of the abbreviated minutes, a Sense of the Senate resolution passed in support of this new policy.

John Bailer, Chair, Statistics, presented the proposed Data Analytics (Bachelor of Arts) major, and Meaghan Murtagh, ASG President, updated Senate on the activities of ASG this past year.

Senators engaged in a discussion lead by Robin Parker regarding several new University policies. Liz Mullenix, Dean, College of Creative Arts, explained the proposal to create a new IMS department. Steve Tuck, Chair, Classics, spoke about a consolidation request for Classics.

Senators engaged in a discussion lead by Jen Green and Kate de Medieros, Co-Chairs, Ad-Hoc Committee on Composition. Changes to the Academic Integrity Policy were discussed and approved, and Tom Herbert, Sr.V.P. Advancement gave a campaign update.
