The AccessMU Center was created to support accessibility fundamentals across the University infrastructure. The department leads the university in accessibility related activities and initiatives in areas such as web accessibility, software procurement, accessibility training and captioning support services.
Accessible Technology Services also produces course materials in alternative and accessible formats. The department converts textbooks and supplemental materials to be compatible with assistive technology used by students. To receive alternative formats, students should be affiliated with SDS and have an approved accessible text accommodation. Students are responsible for submitting alternative format requests each semester according to the current Accessible Course Material Procedures.
