ID Card

When you arrive on campus, you will receive an ID card. This ID card is your ticket to the University: it will give you access to your residence hall and room, serve as your method of payment for meals, and hold your Flex Plan account information. It will also serve as your Recreational Sports Center pass, should you choose to purchase one. If you lose your ID, please report it immediately to a Summer Scholars counselor. There is a $35 replacement charge for lost cards.

Flex Plan

All Summer Scholars will have access to a Flex Plan, a temporary debit account that will be linked to ID cards. With the money loaded onto the card, students can do laundry in the residence hall, as well as purchase items from the vending machines across campus.

  • Money can be added in increments of $5. A processing fee of $5 will be charged each time funds are loaded.
  • Orders will be processed within 24 hours. An email will be sent to the student confirming the addition of funds.
  • Money is non-refundable. Students are encouraged to treat their cards like cash. If it is lost, its funds may be gone as well, and students should report it immediately to a Summer Scholars counselor.
  • If a student does not use the balance on the card over the course of the program, the remaining money is wiped clear of the card on the last day of the Summer Scholars session the student is attending.
  • The cost to wash a load of laundry is $1.75 per load.
  • The cost to dry a load of laundry is $1.75 per load.

Students and parents will have the opportunity to deposit money to the student's Flex Plan debit account prior to and during move-in day. Information will also be provided about how to deposit additional funds at a later date, if needed. Recreational Sports Center passes may also be purchased at this time for $30. Students typically only have time to work out in the early morning (6 a.m. - 8 a.m.)
