Mission Statement

In celebration of our 30th anniversary, we’re launching the Friends of Miami Recreation program to reconnect former staff, alumni, and the community. This initiative will celebrate past stories and develop a comprehensive history of recreation at Miami.

Our History

Since the opening of Herron Gym in 1897, Miami Recreation has been a cornerstone of campus life, evolving from its modest beginnings into the thriving Recreational Center we have today. Over the past century, we’ve built a vibrant community, connecting students and Oxford residents through wellness and shared experiences.
