Barre Above

The Barre Above® certification will teach you everything you need to implement a successful barre program anywhere - whether you teach at a gym, studio, health club, or university. Fusing the worlds of pilates, yoga, aerobics, and elements of the strengthening exercises dancers do, Barre Above delivers a results-driven workout that will sculpt your students' bodies, get them into amazing shape, and have them coming back for more. As a Barre Above® instructor, you'll learn the correct way to teach barre that is fun and totally unique for your students. You'll also learn how to structure an effective barre workout that meets all your students' needs, whether you're teaching on a barre or off one. You'll learn barre specific cueing, so that your students will feel empowered, motivated, and have the ability to progress. Admittance to 8-hr Live In-Person Barre above™ Instructor Certification with Master Trainer. Includes CECs and Instructor Certification Materials provided on certification date at location. Attendee is certified to teach Barre above™ and Barre fusion classes upon completion of 8-Hr Day. This Barre Above Instructor certification is eligible for 12.0 AFAA, 1.2 ACE, 1.2 NASM, and 12.0 SCW CECs. This includes the 8-Hour LIVE In-Person Certification plus supplementary Online Education Modules, which are included as part of the Barre Above® certification.

Group Fitness Instructor

The Instructor Training Program aims to provide potential group fitness instructors a solid knowledge of exercise and health. The course is designed from the American Council of Exercise (ACE) Curriculum, and a hands-on education component for optimal learning. Throughout the fall participants will learn the basic skills required to teach a Total Body Tone class. Potential instructors will audition in Toning prior to moving on to shadow additional class formats. Throughout the spring participants will learn additional class formats such as Cardio Blast, Kettlebell, TRX, and more. Attend an info session to learn more!

Registered Yoga School

Registered Yoga School

In this 200-hour training, participants will learn the skills required to teach Vinyasa style yoga. Weekly meetings will be held twice per week for two and a half hours each week (for a total of five hours per week). Times and days are determined by the availability of trainees. Participants are required to take one Vinyasa style yoga class either at the Rec or at any other studio/location every week. The Recreational Sports Center RYT200 is the only local program that offers the opportunity to teach throughout the training. Once the program is underway, students will be required to practice teach once a week at the Rec Center, attend three 10-hour weekend sessions throughout the year, and perform some additional work on their own. A Recreation Center Group Fitness Membership is included in the cost of the program. Ever wanted to get into Strength and Conditioning, Personal Training or just improve your own workouts? This course will explore the basic foundations and applications in coaching; philosophy, sport science, and sport management with in-depth analysis of sport physiology. Students will learn all aspects necessary to be an effective and successful strength and conditioning coach for any sport for both teams and individual athletes. Questions?
