Workforce retention and wages in nursing homes: An analysis of managerial ownership
Healthcare providers can be managed by salaried managers or owner-managers that have a significant equity stake in their facility. Using data on Ohio-based nursing homes from 2005 to 2015, this study examines whether salaried or owner-managed nursing homes have higher workforce retention and whether this is driven by differences in wage rates.
