OWP at Miami University

The Ohio Writing Project is one of the oldest sites of the National Writing Project. Founded in 1980, Miami’s OWP has offered workshops and inservice to over 100,000 K-12 teachers.

Currently celebrating its 39th year, OWP supports teachers from all over southwest Ohio and celebrates the professionalism, expertise, and talent of our state’s educators.

The National Writing Project, founded at Berkeley in 1973, is devoted to improving the teaching of writing and learning from kindergarten through college. NWP has been named one of the most cost-efficient, effective professional development programs in the history of our country.
