Meredith Erb, 2022 Mallory-Wilson Center Faculty/Staff Recognition Award
- Teaching Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
- in charge of undergraduate recruiting in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
- teaches organic chemistry to many pre-health students
- developed an Organic Chemistry I Review course, offered during the Winter term, for students needing reinforcement of first-semester organic chemistry concepts

The 2021-2022 awardee of the Mallory-Wilson Center Faculty/Staff Recognition Award is Dr. Meredith Erb, an Associate Teaching Professor at Miami University. This award was established by the Mallory-Wilson Center Board of Directors in 2014 to honor one Miami University faculty or staff person each year who demonstrated outstanding dedication and commitment to undergraduate pre-medical training. The Mallory-Wilson Center Student Advisory Board solicits nominations for the award, and then selects the awardee from nominations received.
Dr. Erb received two nominations from our premedical and pre-health students, who described Dr. Erb’s great impact on students in Miami’s pre-health community. Here are excerpts from her nominations:
“Dr. Erb is the best professor I have had at Miami. She is not only incredibly passionate about organic chemistry, but also about ensuring every student has a solid understanding of course content. Dr. Erb never hesitates to offer assistance to students and works hard to make sure there are heaps of resources to aid in student success.”
“Not only is she excellent at delivering course material, but the concepts and study approaches I learned from her class I was able to apply to other pre-health courses and even the MCAT. This individual is an amazing person and I owe her my success.”
Her nomination clearly demonstrated to the Mallory-Wilson Center Student Advisory Board that Dr. Erb is a wonderful asset to Miami’s pre-health students and a very deserving recipient of this year’s Faculty/Staff Recognition Award.
