We focus on the exploration of the nature of healthcare as a profession, including the changing environment for healthcare practitioners, the lifestyle of healthcare professionals of the future, the cultural expectations of healthcare professionals, and accountability—in terms of personal lifestyle, service to patients, and service to the profession
Since 1994, the Mallory-Wilson Center for Healthcare Education has consisted of dedicated, hardworking people committed to providing opportunities for Miami students interested in a career in healthcare. In the fall of 2014, a permanent home was established for the Center in Pearson Hall. This Center is the hub for advising students interested in a career in healthcare. The Center houses offices for the Center’s Director, Pre-health Professions Advisor, and staff. This location also provides a meeting place for pre-med students.
Established in 1994 through a gift by Dr. Thomas H. Mallory and Mrs. Kelly S. Mallory, The Thomas H. Mallory Center for Premedical Education reflected the Mallory's strong belief that students planning a career in healthcare should be fully informed of the issues facing today's professionals. In recognition of Dr. David Wilson's contributions as Director, Dr. and Mrs. Mallory requested in 2007 that the official name of the Center be changed to The Thomas H. Mallory and David F. Wilson Center for Healthcare Education.
It is only through the wonderful generosity of donors to the Mallory-Wilson Center that this is at all possible. Please take a few minutes and consider how valuable a resource this is to our students and help us continue these efforts with a gift.
