Summer Research Support

Are you planning to engage in laboratory research this summer? Would additional financial support help make that experience more feasible?

The Kenneth McLeish Undergraduate Premedicine Research Fund provides financial assistance to eligible students pursuing laboratory research experiences. If you are conducting research this summer, you are strongly encouraged to apply for support through the Mallory-Wilson Center.

A limited number of awards—up to $2,500—are available to help offset living expenses associated with summer research.

Just-in-time Announcements

The reason the Mallory-Wilson Center created the newsletter was so that we're not overwhelming anyone's inbox, and we do plan to continue with this. However, sometimes we have information/reminders about events, professional school preparation, and other relevant topics that we are unable to add to our newsletter because of dates, or that we feel are important enough to send individually. If you would like to receive these additional announcements please fill out this form. Moving forward. any individual announcements we have will only be sent to those of you who sign up.

Advising Hours

Drop-in advising hours are available M-F from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm via Zoom. This should be used for quick questions, as students will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis and limited to a few minutes.

If these times don't work with your schedule, or you have a more in-depth question, you can sign up for a one-on-one meeting with a pre-health advisor.

Mallory-Wilson Center Updates

Premedical and Pre-Health Studies Co-major

The Premedical and Pre-Health Studies Co-major has been updated with new concentrations: a premedical track and a pre-health track (dentistry, PA, optometry, veterinary, and pharmacy).

Incoming students interested in a professional career in healthcare should enroll in PMD 101: Explorations in Healthcare Careers. On completing the course, you will be able to add the co-major.

Test Prep

Are you planning to start a test prep over winter break? Are you shopping around for the best option for you to begin over the summer? The Mallory-Wilson Center has entered into a collaboration with the The Princeton Review to offer all Miami University students 25% off of MCAT, DAT, and GRE prep materials. This is an ongoing agreement, so as new courses/materials are made available the discount should apply. The discount does not apply retroactively, so if you've already signed up you unfortunately aren't able to take advantage. All students are required to use their Miami University emails to receive discount.
