Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Brass Institute

Presented through a regional partnership of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Miami University

Housed at Miami University's Oxford, Ohio campus, this week-long institute offers highly selective pre-professional fellowship and high school programs (admission by audition) with instruction by musicians of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra brass section. Students will receive daily coaching, mock auditions and master classes, and the Institute will include multiple performance opportunities in Oxford and Cincinnati.

CSOBI High School Program

Incoming (Fall 2024) 9-12 grade students will audition in person.  

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Brass Institute, High School Program, is an intensive educational and performance opportunity for high school brass players from Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and East Central Indiana. 

Held on the beautiful campus of Miami University, the participants will work closely with members of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Brass section and Miami University Faculty. With the support of the Miami University College of Creative Arts and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, this program is being offered without cost

CSOBI Orchestral Training Fellowship Program

Players age 18-28 will submit video auditions with their application.

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Brass Institute, Orchestral Fellows Program, is a week-long intensive educational and performance opportunity for pre-professional brass players from across the country. 

This Program is offered without cost to the participant. With the support of the Miami University College of Creative Arts and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the chosen participants will receive a fellowship for the full cost of the program including accommodation and meals.
