2024 Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Brass Institute High School Program

June 3 - June 10, 2024

Held on the beautiful campus of Miami University, June 3 through June 10, 2024, the participants will work closely with members of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Brass section and Miami University Faculty. With the support of the Miami University College of Creative Arts and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, this program is being offered without cost

Through an audition process, applicants will be invited to participate in either the Scholars Program or the Academy Program. The week long Scholars Program will emphasize the fundamentals of high-level brass playing while exploring the world of brass chamber music. Chamber ensembles will perform high-profile concerts in both Cincinnati and Oxford. In addition to the training, students will also be given the opportunity to participate in other activities such as attending a live rehearsal with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. The Academy Program will consist of 2 full days where participants will work with members of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and instructors from Miami University on the fundamentals of brass playing. Topics such as tone production, intonation, rhythm, and articulation will be emphasized.

We're ecstatic to bring this program back for another year. This is an opportunity to study at the highest level and experience music-making as you never have before!
