Samantha Rumschlag, a doctoral student in the Ecology, Evolution and Environmental Biology (EEEB) program, received first place in the Herpetologists' League Graduate Research Awards at the Joint Meeting of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists held in Albuquerque N.M. June 10-15.

Rumschlag’s award was based on giving the best oral presentation (among graduate students) at the meetings. She presented "How Time of Exposure to the Amphibian Chytrid Fungus Affects Gray Treefrogs in the Presence of an Insecticide."

Her research focuses on a widespread pathogen implicated in amphibian declines and how susceptibility may be influenced by other factors.

Rumschlag is advised by Michelle Boone, associate professor of zoology.
