Power down unnecessary electronics 3-4 p.m. Wednesday

The physical facilities department will conduct a test to learn how the university may assist in a regional electrical emergency situation. 

Although these situations are rare, it is important to know how much we can reduce our electrical consumption while meeting our primary function of educating students. The test will be conducted from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the Oxford campus today, Wednesday, Aug. 28.

The university community  - students, staff and faculty - is asked to contribute by turning off all electronic devices that are not essential for that hour (e.g. lights, coffee makers, chargers, etc.).
