Miami Libraries celebrate summer special collections exhibit

Covington Collection

The exhibit is open through Aug. 1 and is located in the gallery of the Walter Havighurst Special Collections in Miami's King Library.

Miami University Libraries will host a reception at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 24, to honor its summer Special Collections exhibit, Covington's Cincinnati: The Samuel Fulton Covington Collection.

The exhibit features materials from The Samuel F. Covington Collection, which contains materials of local and regional interest collected by Covington in the late 19th century.  The collection include diaries, scrapbooks, correspondence, photographs and other ephemera that when taken together, provide a look at life in an earlier Cincinnati.

The reception is free and features remarks by the guest curator, John H. “Jack” White, Miami alumnus and adjunct faculty member. The program will be held in 320 King Library.

The exhibit is open through Aug. 1 and is located in the gallery of the Walter Havighurst Special Collections suite on the third floor of King Library.  The exhibit is free and open to the public, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday - Friday.
