Regional electrical emergency test: Power down 4-5 p.m.Tuesday

Please turn off unneeded electrical items during the test

Miami’s physical facilities department will conduct a test, Tuesday, Aug. 26, in the event the university is called upon to assist in a regional electrical emergency situation. 

Although these situations are rare, it is important to reduce the university’s electrical consumption during the test while meeting our primary function of educating students. The test will be conducted 4-5 p.m. today, Aug. 26, on the Oxford campus. The university community is asked to contribute by turning off all electronic devices that are not essential for that hour (e.g. lights, coffee makers, chargers, computers, etc.).
