Miami Hamilton talk to focus on Latino population

Miami Hamilton's Association of Latino and American Students is sponsoring a talk on "Race and the Census" at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at the Harry T. Wilks Conference Center. The event will feature Byron Miller, assistant professor of sociology and gerontology and black world studies, and is free and open to the public.

The talk will focus on the growing Hispanic/Latino population and the way the U.S. census classifies this group,” said Miller.  “The group’s cultural, economic, political and social contributions to U.S. society and its future prospects will also be discussed.”

Miami University Hamilton is located at 1601 University Blvd.
