The Miami community is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday, April 25, for the new David and Anita Dauch Indoor Sports Center.

The event begins with an open house, featuring student-athlete demonstrations at noon and a program at 12:30 p.m.

Featured speakers will include:

  • David Dauch (Miami ’86), donor.
  • John Harbaugh (Miami ’84), Baltimore Ravens head football coach.
  • Ben Roethlisberger (Miami ’12), Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback.
  • David Hodge, Miami president.
  • David Sayler, Miami athletic director.
  • Student-athletes.

Located to the north of Yager Stadium, the indoor sports center provides a year-round, weatherproof environment supporting all of Miami’s varsity sports.

The only facility of its type in Southwestern Ohio, it features a full 120-yard FieldTurf field; sprint lane; special netting for baseball, softball and golf practices; and a high jump area and long jump pit. In the evenings, scheduling is available to the broader campus for intramural and club sport use.

Miami football’s annual spring scrimmage is at 1 p.m. at Yager Stadium, following the ribbon-cutting.
