Spring Internship and Career Expo to feature more than 220 employers

Miami University students seeking an internship or full-time job can interact with employers attending the Spring Internship & Career Expo (Spring ICE) Wednesday, Feb. 1, 1-5:30 p.m. at Millett Hall.

Spring ICE brings together thousands of students and more than 220 hiring organizations. Attending students can distribute resumes and speak with employer representatives from business and industry, as well as selected governmental and public service agencies. Organizations participate in the event to help them identify talented prospects to invite for interviews.

“Employers value internships as an experiential training component in a highly competitive job-search process. In turn, students benefit from internships by learning new skills and responsibilities, allowing them to better identify an employer’s culture and requirements,” said Jennifer McLaughlin, interim director of career services. “Internships are a key attribute to better managing a student’s chosen career path, regardless of respective major.”

Employers confirmed to appear at this year’s event include Alliance Data, Procter & Gamble, Urban Teachers, Fifth Third Bank, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and The U.S. Department of State.

McLaughlin recommends that students who have never been to a job fair attend the Spring ICE training session beforehand. Various training sessions are held prior to the event with dates and times available on Career Service’s website. For more information, please visit MiamiOH.edu/careers.
