Miami University Fashion and Design creates jewelry for Miami bookstore

mufd-displayA collaboration between Miami University’s office of university trademarks and licensing and Miami University Fashion and Design (MUFD), a student organization, has resulted in a line of jewelry designed by students and available for sale at the Miami University Bookstore.

MUFD members submitted sketches of jewelry to trademarks and licensing and LogoArt, the vendor who is producing the line. Six designs were chosen and are available at the bookstore's new Brick & Ivy location in the Armstrong Student Center and on the bookstore website.

The line is being marketed with the slogan, “Our School, Our Story” and provides school merchandise that is not just fan gear, but is stylish as well.

MUFD began its partnership with trademarks and licensing by helping to bring the Victoria’s Secret PINK bus to campus last fall. The organization provided publicity, a fashion shoot and assistance during the event, all of which contributed to high sales.

mufd-closeupFollowing the success of the event, Laura Driscoll, manager of trademarks and licensing, knew she wanted to continue working with MUFD. “I’m very pleased to partner with MUFD. Their insight and passion have helped us provide more fashion-forward Miami merchandise,” Driscoll said.

She hopes to continue collaborating with MUFD in the future to create merchandise and apparel that fits the fashions and styles that students want to wear.
