Get your tickets Feb. 2-4 during a flash sale for Miami’s Charter Day Ball

Charter Day ball FlyerTickets for Miami’s Charter Day Ball, Saturday, Feb. 17, are on sale now, but don’t wait. A special flash sale runs Feb. 2–4. During the flash sale, tickets are $20.

Charter Day Ball is one of the longest standing traditions on Miami’s campus. It is a formal affair that is held every three years to celebrate the chartering of Miami in 1809.

The ball has become a staple in the Miami community since the first one in 1976. It brings together students, faculty, staff, alumni and the Oxford community.

The 2018 ball has a special focus on inclusion in hopes that every member of the Miami community feels welcome to celebrate. An inclusion committee is the newest committee created to promote an inclusive environment before, after and during the ball.

“As inclusion is one of the most important elements for the success of an event, the executive board formed this committee in hopes that students feel a sense of belonging regarding the ball,” said Darsh Parthasarathy, a member of the Charter Day Ball inclusion committee.

“We want to make sure that students are able to go to the ball if they would like to and are not deterred by finances, Parthasarathy said.

The inclusion committee organized a formal wear drive where dresses are sold for $5, $10, and $15. They have also offered 100 free tickets for students who request financial aid.

Filled with live music, entertainment, food, and dancing, it is truly a special part of the Miami Experience. Join the fun 8 p.m. at Millett.

Regular ticket prices are $40 for students and $50 for nonstudents and can be purchased on the Charter Day Ball website, on the HUB or at the H.O.M.E. office.
