Miami University Faculty Scholar Awards for 2021 have been presented to John Jeep, professor of German, Russian, and Middle East Languages and Cultures (GREAL); Rose Marie Ward, professor of kinesiology, nutrition and health; and Ellen Yezierski, professor of chemistry and biochemistry.

University Faculty Scholar Awards (formerly called the Distinguished Scholar Awards) honor faculty whose sustained excellence in research or other creative activity has achieved significant standing in their fields.

Miami University Junior Faculty Scholar Awards (formerly called the Distinguished Junior Faculty Awards) have been presented to assistant professors Carolyn Hardin, media, journalism and film and global and intercultural studies; Andrew Jones, chemical, paper and bioengineering; and Jessica McCarty, geography.

University Junior Faculty Scholar Awards honor faculty members who have demonstrated great potential in research or artistry and have achieved significant standing in their fields. Candidates for the University Junior Faculty Scholar Award must have the rank of assistant professor by the due date of the nomination.

The scholars, named by the committee on faculty research, each receive a $2,000 grant to pursue further research.
