Mary Geren Lutz
Mary Geren Lutz entered Miami University as a business major in the fall of 1988. It took a year, but she found her place and her people in her sophomore year and changed her major to music. While at Miami, Mary was active in Choraliers, Delta Zeta, and the MU Opera Program. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 1992.
Following graduation, she had a short stint in sales and marketing before shifting her career to development, starting in events and direct mail solicitations before advancing to major gifts and donor relations. Mary worked for several organizations including Beech Acres, Miami University College of Creative Arts, and Motown Records. Following the adoption of her Guatemalan-born twins, Mary began a small import business, Edgar Patrice Imports, and worked with cooperatives in Guatemala connecting them with the American marketplace. Through this connection, she joined Meso Goods (formerly The Mayan Store) as their National Sales Director.
Mary has served as President of Miami University’s Performing Arts Series Advisory Board, chaired the annual Fall Fiesta for Cooperative for Education where she serves on the Advisory Board, and has volunteered for many deserving organizations including the International Adoption Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, SPCA Cincinnati, Girl Scouts of America, Interfaith Hospitality Network, Seven Hills Parent’s Council, Montgomery Elementary PTO, First Unitarian Church of Cincinnati, and Avondale Elementary School.
Mary lives in Montgomery, Ohio, with her husband of 25 + years, Larry, and a menagerie of pets. Larry and Mary share a blended family of six children and four grandchildren. She enjoys spending her time cooking for friends and family, watching baseball, listening to live music, and loves a good, themed party.
