Jennifer Benz
In her role as Assistant Vice President, Benz (formerly Franchak) provides strategic direction to the Center for Career Exploration and Success which annually supports 5,000 on-campus interviews, four job and internship fairs including one of the nation’s largest career fairs, and more than 6,100 job postings. She also serves as the University lead in the implementation and expansion of Miami’s Career Community.
Prior to starting in her position at Miami University in 2017,Benz served as the Executive Director of Academic, Career, and Personal Development at Xavier University where she oversaw career services, academic advising, and the first-year co-curricular course for all incoming freshmen.
Jen has 18 years of experience in higher education with an emphasis within career development. In addition to collaboratively re-envisioning career services at Xavier University, she also worked at Mount St. Joseph University where she focused on the delivery of experiential education programs including cooperative education, service learning, and prior learning assessment. Through these roles, she developed an appreciation for a holistic approach to working with students and data-driven decision-making.
Benz is an active member in the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA).
