Scholarship Opportunity | Save 70% on Technology Certifications

Do you want to start a new career in tech or get ahead in your current role? For a limited time, a new scholarship, funded by Ohio's Talent Ready Grant, will cover 70% of the cost of certifications in CAD, Agile, Photoshop, and more at Miami University Regionals.

What is the Scholarship Opportunity?

Thanks to the Talent Ready Grant offered through the Ohio Department of Higher Education, the State of Ohio will cover 70% of tuition and fees on eligible tech certifications. Apply soon; classes must be completed by June 2025. 

What Certificates Can I Earn?

The following online technology-focused Microcredentials are eligible for the Talent Ready at Miami Scholarship. Microcredentials show certifiable skills with a digital badge and college credit that may be used toward a degree or to boost job readiness.

Advanced Computer-Aided Manufacturing

Advance your skills in Computer-Aided Manufacturing. Practice computer-aided drafting (CAD) skills and write CNC programs for lathes to manufacture parts.

ICAgile Certified Professional

Understand distinctions between Agile values, principles, and practices, value-driven development, adaptive planning techniques, and customer collaboration within organizations and teams.

Agile Product and Delivery Management

Understand how Agile is distinct from traditional project management. Master Lean and Agile project implementation techniques with adaptive planning, customer collaboration, and value-driven delivery.

Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD)

Build skills in 2D and 3D mechanical drafting and modeling, and learn manufacturing and fabrication processes. You will work directly with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Computer Numerical Control.

Who Should Apply for the Scholarship?

Talent Ready at Miami is open to most people who want to receive training or a new technology certification. Priority will be given to new and returning Miami University students.

 Apply if:

  • You began your college education at Miami but could not complete a degree. 
  • You have some college experience.
  • You have a high school diploma or high school equivalency, such as
    • High School Equivalency (HSE)
    • General Education Development (GED)
    • Completed diploma program.
Follow these steps to apply for the Talent Ready at Miami Scholarship.
STEPS ACTION
Step 1 Submit an application for the scholarship.
Step 2 Apply as a new or returning student (for-credit students only).
Step 3 Attend a virtual interview with a Microcredential Specialist.
Step 4 Receive an admission notification and your scholarship status.

 

Important Deadlines

We are accepting scholarship applications for all terms. You must complete your course(s) by June 2025. Review these dates and make a plan to get started.

May 1

Summer 2024

Fall 2024

Enroll by this date for a fall start.

Jan. 10

Be mindful of the following details about Talent Ready at Miami.

  • Apply for the scholarship and know your acceptance status before taking the next steps.
  • Eligible courses and workshops must be completed by June 2025.
  • Former Miami students must be in good standing with the university and clear any holds before
    re-enrolling.
