President Greg Crawford announces seven projects to be funded in this first round of Boldly Creative, Miami's $50 million academic development fund. He also updates the Miami community on the progress toward a new strategic plan and the highlights of a large and academically talented incoming Class of 2023. Other Miamians highlighted include a student who will soon be a published author, a faculty member who spreads his love of piano online, and a staff member who takes pride in keeping his corner of the Oxford campus well maintained.

In this version of Miami Stories, the president celebrates the winners of our 2019 University Awards, led by Benjamin Harrison Medallion winner, Dr. Richard Campbell. He also recounts a visit with Ohio Governor (and Miami alumnus) Mike DeWine and updates the community on recommendations from the 2017 Climate Survey. Members of the Miami family featured include a staff member who has found a rewarding career at Miami Regionals, a student combining her love of math and art, and a faculty member using YouTube to help students gain access to valuable content.

In the latest edition of Miami Stories, President Greg Crawford provides updates on 2019 Spring Commencement, the Center for Career Exploration and Success, and a long-term budget plan approved by the Board of Trustees. You will meet a student who has used her own health difficulties to help others, a professor who is helping fledgling teachers to use technology in their teaching, and a librarian who started at Miami as a baker.

Several important strategic initiatives are outlined in this February edition: A sustainability plan to promote environmental stewardship and social responsibility, a committee to explore innovative academic spaces on the Oxford campus, and a strategy to invest in Miami's future. You also can read stories of a professor at Miami Regionals who is helping make buildings and bridges safer, a mailroom staff member who goes above and beyond to help students, and a group of students who represented Miami on a national stage and found a wider community.

In this "special edition" of Miami Stories, President Greg Crawford recaps his presentation to Faculty Assembly on Dec. 6, 2018, and outlines some of the issues facing Miami University as we navigate the fast-changing world of higher education.

October 17

In the latest edition of Miami Stories, President Greg Crawford looks to the future. Miami will create a five-year strategic plan to lead into an era of innovation and creativity, anchored by the $50 million Boldly Creative academic enrichment initiative. A task force will build on the results from last year's campus climate survey. And the new Presidential Fellows scholarship program will help Miami compete for the best and brightest students nationally and internationally. The president also tells the story of a student helping other students at the Howe Writing Center, a faculty member who concentrates her research on millennials, and a staff member who spends his time helping students—inside and outside of his job description.

August 19

In this issue of Miami Stories, President Greg Crawford offers a preview of Convocation 2018 on Friday, August 24, featuring Miami alum and acclaimed author Wil Haygood. He also previews expanded Career Services and an upcoming special anniversary celebration at the Miami Regionals campus in Hamilton. You'll read about a student who has used his Miami education to help in his hometown in Puerto Rico, a staff member ready to welcome thousands of Miami students later this week, and a faculty member whose research focuses on "The Achieving Mentality" in sports and many other areas. June 26

In his summer edition of Miami Stories, President Crawford updates the Miami community on his latest strategic initiatives. He also introduces us to a faculty member who is recognized as a national health care expert, a recent graduate who used his time at Miami to its fullest potential, a university librarian who is looking to the future, and a staff member who flies the Miami flag—even in zero gravity!

May 4

President Crawford tells us about the incoming class of 2022, as well as Miami's award as one of the healthiest workplaces in Greater Cincinnati. He also introduces biology professor Paul Harding on Miami's regional campuses, patrol sergeant Jerry Yates of the Miami University Police Department, and student Kamilah Dotson, who has led more than 200 tours of the Oxford campus.

In his latest Miami Stories newsletter, President Crawford calls for a "new era of innovation and creativity."
